DESCRIPTION:In honor of the exhibition Utopia in Our Time: The Posters of Molly Crabapple\, Poster House is presenting a homage to Molly’s very own Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School and hosting a burlesque-themed life drawing class complete with speakeasy-themed cocktails.  \nHosted by instructor Robin Mork\, this titillating evening will feature live model Dame Cuchifrita accompanied by classic bump-n-grind tunes. Guests are encouraged to bring their own supplies; however\, if you do not have materials\, fear not! Limited supplies will also be available for general use.  \nTicket price includes one complimentary beverage\, with a cash bar available for additional purchases.  \nDame Cuchifrita is a regular fixture in New York City’s neo-burlesque movement\, and is known for her surprising storytelling\, generally accompanied by gorgeous sets and costumes that reflect her work as a visual artist and fashion designer. A regular feature at Dr. Sketchy’s\, she has also modeled at the Society of Illustrators and at Poster House\, creating animated and character-based poses to inspire and titillate in performances incorporating improvisation and dramatic costumes and props. Dame Cuchifrita can also be found working hard as a menswear designer during the day and as a semi-professional cook and baker on the weekends. \nRobin Mork is an illustrator and educator\, teaching design and the creative process at Queens College and St. John’s University\, as well as a variety of workshops at Poster House. She is an avid on location and live drawing artist\, with a strong interest in gesture and materials exploration. Her work can be seen at robinmork.com. \nThis program is suitable for attendees over the age of 21. \nAccessibility Note: Masks and clear masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available. ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation or a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is also available upon request.
