DESCRIPTION:Poster House is pleased to welcome back esteemed graphic designer and letterpress printer Dafi Kühne. At this event\, he will be in conversation with Executive Director and Curator Angelina Lippert to celebrate the launch of his new book\, Poster Cult. Dafi Kühne is one of Switzerland’s foremost poster designers and his bold\, varied work embraces both traditional production tools and modern design technique. SUMMARY:Members-Only Tour: Mike King & the Art of the Gig Poster
DESCRIPTION:Poster House members are invited to a private tour of the exhibition Copy/Paste/Print/Repeat: Mike King & the Art of the Gig Poster. Join artist Mike King as he discusses some of the rarest posters he produced during a 30-year period of his career. What began as a means of promoting the shows of his own bands in the late 1970s gradually became a full-time specialism in the art of the eye-catching concert poster. Today\, there are few major venues or bands that have not worked with King—and his imagery has saturated American music culture\, appearing on album covers\, T-shirts\, and\, most importantly\, posters. Light refreshments will be provided. \nAccessibility Note: Masks and clear masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available.
