Join Poster House on the First Friday of every month for free admission and extended hours! Explore the museum’s latest exhibitions and get in on the fun by attending a tour, workshop, performance, or activity throughout the day. Every First Friday is different, offering unique opportunities to engage with rotating exhibitions and the permanent collection. This June, celebrate Pride at Poster House with any of our LGBTQIA+ themed offerings!

2pm Made in Japan Curatorial Tour
Join Poster House guest curator Erin Schoneveld for an in-person tour of the acclaimed exhibition Made in Japan: 20th-Century Poster Art. Explore the cultural and political shifts within modern Japan that influenced the functions and messaging of its posters and the public’s response to them. Questions strongly encouraged!

4pm Origami Workshop-$10
Origami is Japan’s most globally recognized papercraft. Poster House is pleased to partner with Taro’s Origami Studio for this hands-on  workshop. Learn basic origami techniques and create your very own Pride-themed paper sculpture.

5:30pm Pride Poster Drop-in Workshop with Acacia Rodriguez
Join artist and designer Acacia Rodriguez for this drop-in Pride poster workshop.  Materials will be provided; just bring your ideas and creativity! Participants will leave with a poster of their own making for all of their Pride festivities. 

7pm Drag Performance featuring Dev Doee & Shia Ho
It wouldn’t be Pride without drag! Poster House is pleased to welcome Dev Doee and Shia Ho for a very special evening of performances in response to our two exhibitions Black Power to Black People: Branding the Black Panther Party and Made in Japan: 20th-Century Poster Art. Bring your tips and your enthusiasm!
