Join Kemmii and The Source for an evening of live music at Poster House’s November First Friday. Blending R&B, soul, hip-hop, and electronic influences, Kemmii’s work explores identity, desire, joy, and community while offering a contemporary perspective on Black queer life in New York City. This intimate, audience-focused performance will invite listeners to experience Kemmii’s music up close. Seating will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This program is presented by Poster House’s CMYK Council, the museum’s BIPOC advisory board that works to ensure the museum is accessible to communities of color.
Kemmii is a Caribbean-American performer, songwriter, and producer whose work blends music, visual storytelling, and performance. In 2024, he released his self-produced album no hesitation and its deluxe edition. His visual EP BQFRMBK, accompanied by a short film directed by Shamar Amir, explores Black queer life in New York City. Most recently, Kemmii released the self-produced singles “MICHELIN,” “Let It Rain,” and “dream.”
