Genius on Display: Julian Alexander

Friday, Oct 20, 2023
6:30–7:30pm

Poster House is pleased to welcome award-winning art director Julian Alexander in conversation with CMYK member Sharif Tassy for a Genius on Display artist talk. In this wide-ranging conversation, Julian will discuss his groundbreaking design practice as well as his advocacy work on behalf of racialized communities. Questions strongly encouraged!

Julian Alexander is a visual artist, GRAMMY-award winning art director, and founder of Brooklyn-based design studio Slang Inc. His iconic album artwork can be seen on packages that have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. In 2020, Julian started the Supremacy Project that addresses the systematic oppression and violence BIPOC communities are fighting to end through art.

This program is presented by Poster House’s CMYK Council, the museum’s BIPOC advisory board that works to ensure the museum is accessible to communities of color.

This program is presented in person at Poster House. ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation or a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is available upon request with two weeks notice—please email access@posterhouse.org to request interpretation services. Visual descriptions will be provided.
