Tzu Ching Chen (Jessy) is a New York–based artist and designer working with paper-cutting and calligraphy as interconnected forms of cultural mark-making. Rooted in East Asian traditions, her practice explores how gesture, symbol, and structure can be translated into contemporary visual systems and experiences. Her work moves between object-making and participatory formats, reinterpreting traditional craft as a living language within modern contexts.
This program is presented by Poster House’s CMYK Council, the museum’s BIPOC advisory board, in recognition of AAPI Heritage Month. It highlights the contributions and cultural impact of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities through the lens of art and culture.
