In celebration of Art for Art House: The Posters of Peter Strausfeld, Poster House will present a special mini film series on March 20. Radical, jazz-infused, and formally daring, Shirley Clarke’s The Connection (1961) is a groundbreaking example of American independent cinema. The film blurs the line between documentary and fiction, capturing the raw energy and experimentation that define many of the posters created by Peter Strausfeld for avant-garde screenings at the Academy Cinema in London.
Be sure to stop by Café des Affiches for themed drinks and snacks to accompany the movie!
Duration: 1 hour 50 minutes
Recommended Age: 15 and above (please note that this film includes depictions of drug use and addiction. Viewer discretion is advised).
Accessibility Note: Masks and clear masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available. ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation or a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is also available upon request.
