Female Trailblazers: A Special Members-Only Series

In honor of the exhibition Utopia in Our Time: The Posters of Molly Crabapple, now on view at Poster House, members are invited to explore the creative work of female trailblazers both past and present.

The next stop is Columbia University’s Wallach Art Gallery for a guided tour of Lotty Rosenfeld: Disobedient Spaces.

Chilean artist Lotty Rosenfeld (Santiago, 1943–2020, Santiago) celebrated the imagination as the antidote to systems of control, whether patriarchal, dictatorial, capitalistic, or colonial. Framed through the lens of care, feminist friendship, and solidarity across difference, the exhibition highlights these aspects of her practice as central to her conceptual strategies.

The exhibition, Rosenfeld’s first retrospective in the United States, emphasizes her use of an extraordinary range of materials—including rarely seen intaglio prints, collages based on everyday objects, book covers, and screenprints with thread.

Wallach Art Gallery is located at 615 W 129th St, New York, NY 10027.
