COVID-19 Guidelines
Your health and safety are our top priorities, and with this in mind we are carefully following guidelines and regulations released by the CDC, New York State, New York City, the Department of Health, and the Department of Labor.
We are excited to welcome you back to Poster House and ask that you review the following guidelines before your visit:
Tickets
We encourage you to purchase your tickets online in advance of your visit. Your email confirmation serves as your ticket on-site. Our new hours are Thursday–Sunday, 10am–6pm, and tickets may be purchased in limited quantities in timed increments. Tickets may be purchased on site depending on capacity.

Arriving at Poster House
Give your order number from your ticket confirmation email or name you booked with at reception to access your tickets.
Admissions Policy
For the first month of reopening, Poster House is offering suggested donation tickets ranging from $0–$10.
Face Masks
Face coverings are required for all visitors over the age of two at all times while visiting Poster House. Face coverings may be medical grade or homemade, but must cover your mouth and nose. Poster House staff will also wear masks at all times.
Social Distancing
Please maintain six feet of separation between you and any visitors who are not a part of your group.
Coat check
Coat check will be self-service and we ask that you limit the number of bags you bring.
Hand washing
Wash hands and use sanitizer regularly during your visit. Single-occupancy bathrooms are available on both floors of the museum, and hand sanitizer stations have been installed at convenient locations throughout the space.
Poster House Staff
Security and Gallery Assistants are trained on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol and Poster House guidelines. Please listen to them and follow any instructions you receive, and please treat them with respect.
Café
The Café is open Friday-Sunday, 11am-5pm.
The Café offers coffee, tea, other beverages, baked goods, and snacks for takeaway only. Our original snacks, Counter Culture Coffee Beans, and Rishi Tea canisters are also available for purchase. An admission ticket is not required to visit the café. Café products can also be found at the Shop and on the Shop’s online store.
There is no food or beverage allowed in the galleries.
Shop
The Shop is open during museum hours. No admission ticket is required to visit the Shop.
Group Visits
All groups must contact info@posterhouse.org to check the ability to visit as a group. A group is defined as visitors with five or more guests.
Virtual tours of the exhibitions on view are available for adult groups. Please complete this form and a member of our team will be in touch soon!
Wayfinding
Poster House has installed floor graphics to better help you in navigating the museum. Color-coded paths indicate how to get to each exhibition as well as the Shop, Poster Timeline, Café, and bathrooms.
Feeling sick?
Stay home if you are feeling sick. For more information about COVID-19, check the CDC website.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit to Poster House. Those visiting Poster House do so at their own risk of such exposure.

Getting Here
Poster House invites visitors of all abilities to explore the museum. A free ticket will be provided to any care worker who accompanies a visitor.
Groups *
Virtual Tours
Virtual tours of the exhibitions on view are available for adult groups. Tours run approximately 60 minutes and involve opportunity for a Q&A about the shows with our knowledgeable docents.
Each tour combines a live speaker, high resolution photos of posters in our shows, as well as video footage of the galleries. Please complete this form and a member of our team will be in touch soon!

Restrooms
All restrooms at Poster House are single-user and gender-neutral, and an ADA accessible bathroom is available on each floor.
Strollers
Strollers are welcome at Poster House and in the galleries. Unfortunately we cannot store strollers unless you are participating in an Educational Program.
Bag & Coat Check *
Poster House has a bag and coat check located behind the Info Desk. Visitors are responsible for any checked items.
Bag and coat check are free of charge.
Docent Tours *
Poster House offers complimentary docent-led tours every week! Click here for a current list of tours, free with admission.
Access
MOBILITY ACCESS
The main entrance to Poster House on 23rd Street is wheelchair accessible, and an elevator services both floors. All galleries are wheelchair accessible.
There are a limited number of manual wheelchairs available free of charge at reception upon request.
Service animals are welcome.
RESTROOMS
All restrooms at Poster House are single-user and gender-neutral, and an ADA accessible bathroom is available on each floor.
GUESTS WITH HEARING LOSS
An RF system is available for our Guided Tours. The system is hearing device compatible. Please request a receiver from the Info Desk.
Receivers are available with either ear buds or neck loops.
Hearing loops are available at our Café, Shop, and Info Desk.
GUESTS WITH VISION LOSS
High-contrast, large-print wall text and labels are available in advance and on site using a digital tablet. To request labels in advance or get more information, contact access@posterhouse.org.
Vibrant Verbal Description Tours of exhibitions with our specially trained educators are offered bimonthly and are free of charge. Please see our Events page for current Access offerings. Prior registration is encouraged as space is limited.
GENERAL INQUIRIES
If you would like to book a complimentary Access Tour during regular museum hours, please email access@posterhouse.org at least two weeks prior to your desired day and time, and we will make every effort to accommodate you. We welcome guests of all abilities and will strive to meet your needs.
